close to home:::Salem Pond

It is HOT outside!
And while Autumn may be just around the corner,
there are a few sizzling days left of summertime.
So what to do to keep cool?

Behold the lovely Salem Pond.

With sand for playing,
docks for fishing & jumping,
the pond for swimming, boating, & floating,
ducks for feeding,
a park for playing & picnicking...........
the Salem Pond is a beautiful summer getaway
that is close to home.

Click here for directions to the pond

On your way back to the Art City,
travel by way of Spanish Fork's Main Street
and stop off at Glade's for some ice cream!

What else are you enjoying this summer that is
close to home?

Namifiers

my view from the ferris wheel

Remember seeing this banner at the carnival
during Art City Days?
I got it at Namifiers.
Right here in Springville.
They had it ready for me
in just a couple of days.
And guess what?!
They gave me a tour so I could share
with you!

They can namify anything for anybody
and ship it out in a jiffy.

Including, but not limited to:
Lanyards, nametags, accessories & apparrel,
key rings, awards, business cards, buttons,
signs, ornaments, luggage tags,
and
even
a
plunger.
What?!
I'm telling you,
they will namify everything!

Let's take a look inside their factory.............

The factory was colorful, creative,
and very busy!

Thank you, Namifiers!
You did such a great job on my banner.

Visit Namifiers at their website.

close to home:::24th festivities

Happy Pioneer Day all!
Hope you had a great weekend.
I have to say,
I'm a devoted Springvillian all the way,
but you've got to know:
Mapleton knows how to party!!!

They had a parade
and games
and a helicopter ping-pong drop
and prizes
and music
and food
and a concert
and fireworks
on the 24th.
It was outstanding!

Ryan Shupe & the Rubberband
played a wild & awesome concert
at the Ira Allen park before the fireworks.

And then.......

....no joke....
one of the best fireworks shows I've seen!
Give it up for our sister city!
But, for reals,
I heart Springville!

S.O.S. ::: Rx & ice cream in ONE!

When Art Citians tell me they've never been to SOS,
I practically throw my jaw out with,
" WHAT???!!!"
I mean, how could that possibly be?!
It is a Springville landmark
and one of my absolute favorites in our sweet town.

SOS is a drugstore & soda shop,
for all you who have remained oblivious,
that is on 214 S. Main Street by Central Bank.
Walgreens may have the convenience of a drive-thru,
but SOS has ice cream on a cone.
And who can beat that?
Especially amidst this summer heat?
And especially for only a dollar?!!

Kiddo scoops are only 50 cents.
Hip Hip!!

a rootbeer shake

The charm, friendliness, & nostalgia
of SOS
will bring people back for forever!
What are your favorite memories of SOS?
And if you haven't been yet,
GO!
For your prescriptions, ice cream,
a Blow pop for 15 cents.....
